Legion footwear values tradition and celebrates authenticity, subsequently we craft our vellies shoes to reflect these ideals. Each vellie that we produce is a unique piece of local craftsmanship filled with a whole lotta’ sole. Owing to our passion for shoe-making, each of our veldksoen are individually hand-made, therefore making no two the same. If you’re looking for a resilient shoe filled with character, our tan vellie is just for you!
COMFORTABLE SOFT SUEDE
Our cow suede is locally sourced and treated to a tanning process that ensures a soft texture and natural colour. The tan colour way is a caramel-brown tone and will tie your outfit together. Although the leather can take about a week to wear in, thereafter your feet will be treated to comfort beyond compare.
Your vellie will be well prepared for South Africa’s weather, come rain or shine, owing to the stitch-down method we use to construct our veldskoene. The stitch-down method is a traditional Khoisan shoe-making system, which means your vellies shoes have stood the test of time. This construction method entails stitching the shoe’s upper to the mid-sole and then gluing it to the base sole. The base sole has a large surface area which means it gets a good licking of glue, consequently our shoes are top quality and long lasting.
A FIRM FOUNDATION
Our sole is produced via an injection mould therefore making it a solid sole conducive to maximum support. The base sole is made from polyurethane thus making it lightweight, water resistant and more affordable! This specialised component also allows for an even weight distribution, in turn making your shoe far more comfortable. Owing to polyurethane’s endurance your vellie’s soles will take you over mountains, through the city and back to the braai – all in style.
